Attendance

We are still at 93.8%.  We have been consistent for the last 4 weeks.  In these uncertain times this is excellent but we are still aiming for the national average of 94.5%.  Thank you for your continued support.

Self-Isolation

Help to those students who are unfortunately self-isolating at the moment.  Keep up the good work that you are all doing on google classroom and please email your teachers if you need support with your work.

Elf on the Shelf

We have a naughty elf that has appeared in school.  Hopefully, it won’t disrupt lesson legend which is taking place next week.  Do encourage your son/daughter by talking about what lesson legend is.

Houses

This week we put all staff into their new houses.  The logo competition is still open until the end of term and we look forward to the first celebration assembly where we see which house has earned the most achievement points so far this year.

Christmas Jumper Day

This will happen on the last day of this term and I will say very specifically Christmas Jumpers and not Christmas hoodies.  The money we raise will go to Save the Children with a small amount sponsoring a light on the Ringmer Village Christmas Tree.  Please pay your pound into ParentPay

Bumper KAR Inter-house Family Christmas Quiz

As part of the relaunch of the House System, we are running an online Christmas Quiz competition for students and their families.  The quiz is designed as a self-marking multiple choice google form with 100 questions.  Closing date for entries Sunday 13 December.

The quiz will be sent out by the end of this week via the students' school email accounts.

The prize: Honour, glory, House Points and, perhaps, a small family Christmas hamper…

12 Days of Giving - Food Bank Donations

Following the success of recent years, we will again be supporting the food bank this December. Food banks are requiring donations more than ever, between April and September 1,239,399 emergency food parcels were provided to people in crisis this year. We will be collecting donations every morning leading up to the last week of term. There will be a collection bucket and the entrance for each bubble. Please see the poster below for information.

Last Day of Term

Just to remind you that we will be finalising early on the last day of term.  Our staggered departure will be: Year 7 at 12.10 pm, Years 8 and 9 at 12.15 pm and Years 10 and 11 at 12.20 pm.  We have notified the bus companies.

Safeguarding Focus

This month we are supporting the Be Kind Advent Calendar which is a lovely idea as you can see below.

Have a great weekend

Kind regards
