The Design and Technology Year 11’s took part in an escape room style revision lesson. Covering key knowledge and correcting common misunderstandings. The answers turned into a number, which then correlated to a colour on a mini piano. Mrs Hepburn is pleased to say that they all ‘escaped’! Lots of deep thinking took place in a fun and purposeful way. Well done Year 11!

Forest Skills Wild Art Creations!
The Forest Skills super curriculum students made some amazing creations this week! They had to plan their project and collect their materials before creating their masterpieces. The portrait of Danny Devito was a personal highlight, but they are all amazing.

King’s Academy Ringmer – Stop Food Waste Day 10th Anniversary
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Stop Food Waste Day, we hosted a lunchtime pop-up event at King’s Academy Ringmer on 29th April focused on raising awareness of food waste in a fun and engaging way. Students were invited to sample vegetable crisps, prompting conversations about how surplus and imperfect vegetables can be transformed into tasty snacks rather than going to waste.
The pop-up created a fantastic opportunity to engage and educate students at the source, highlighting simple actions everyone can take to reduce food waste both at school and at home. Students were extremely enthusiastic, asked thoughtful questions, and showed genuine interest in learning more about the impact of food waste.
The vegetable crisps were a huge hit, helping to reinforce the message that reducing waste doesn’t mean compromising on flavour or enjoyment.

RE Department – Year 9For RE lessons in Year 9 this term, we have been studying Judaism. To bring our learning to life, students were invited to a mock Sabbath meal where they were given the opportunity to drink from the kiddush and receive the challah bread. Students reflected on the importance of this weekly event for Jewish people in our local community and the wider world. Thank you, Mrs Simmons, Subject Leader for RE ![]() ![]()

Year 9 Explore Bright Horizons at Big Futures FairThis week, our Year 9 students headed to Eastbourne Sports Park for the Big Futures Careers Fair. As the premier employability event in East Sussex, it provided a brilliant platform for our students to dive into their potential futures. Whether they were diving into hands-on activities or sparking discussions with exhibitors, our students showed incredible engagement. In fact, both event staff and exhibitors reached out to comment on how exceptionally engaged and professional our Year 9s were. Students returned to school buzzing with new ideas and a wealth of information to explore. We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school community. ![]() ![]()
Year 8 – Chelsea Football Club MascotSage, Year 8, was a mascot for the Chelsea Football Team on Bank Holiday Monday. He was put on the list at age 5 by his sister and his name just came to the top of the list. Usually, they are 5–12 years of age but during Covid, they could not offer mascot places. The football club is honouring their commitment to everyone who was previously nominated, so Sage walked out onto the Chelsea football pitch during their match on 4 May.
