GCSE RESULTS 2021

Students celebrate another year of excellent results

Following another disrupted year for students due to the COVID pandemic, we are extremely proud of the GCSE results our students have received.  Once again, King’s Academy Ringmer has secured strong outcomes and progress for all of our students. For all schools and young people, this has been a challenging year for students taking GCSEs, so today we must remind ourselves to celebrate the achievements of these students with genuine enthusiasm.

King’s Academy Ringmer’s students have achieved outstanding results despite the disruption to their final year. Studying a GCSE is a five-year commitment not just a terminal exam, so when we share the success of our students, we share the end of five years of dedication and effort.

Several individual students excelled. Rachael Trent achieved 10 GCSE grades 9-7 including grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Geography, Spanish and Art.  Isabel Simmons also received 10 GCSE grades 9-7, including grade 9s in Geography, Photography and History.  Molly Gravett received 9 GCSE grades 9-7 including English Language, English Literature and History.  Both Lucy Glaysher and Zoe Myers were awarded 8 GCSEs at grades 9-7 and Cian Parkhouse received the equivalent of 6 GCSE grades at 9-7 including grade 9 or equivalent in Maths, Further maths and BTEC DT.

Principal Sian Williams said:  “The school continues to make rapid progress and is a school that the community can continue to be proud of.  We are delighted that this year group has received the results that they deserve following the rigorous process of Teacher Assessed Grades. I am exceptionally proud of them!  It is important to remind ourselves that this cohort spent a third of their GCSE curriculum time learning remotely during the school closures; this shows their resilience and determination throughout the pandemic.  This is also an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and skill of the staff who have worked tirelessly with our Year 11s. This year our teachers and leaders have been trusted to assess our students using their knowledge and professionalism.

The Chief Executive Officer, Nick Cross, said: “Huge congratulations to the students and staff at King’s Academy Ringmer.  There is no doubt that the hard work and effort has been rewarded by an excellent set of results.  King’s Academy Ringmer goes from strength to strength!”
