King’s Academy Ringmer (KAR) joined the King's Group of Academies (KGA) just over a year ago now. The King’s Group was founded in 1969 by Sir Roger Fry and now runs nine British schools across four countries teaching over 4500 children. Sir Roger Fry is President of the Council of British International Schools. He served as a Director of the Independent Schools Council for four years. He is a Governor of The Royal Grammar School Worcester, and a member of the Education Advisory Group of the British Council. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Portsmouth and is an Honorary Fellow of Trinity College Oxford. In 2012 he was awarded a knighthood for his services to UK Education Internationally.

Sir Roger Chairs the Board of Trustees for the King’s Group Academies and together with King’s Academy Ringmer are offering two places for a Sixth form scholarship opportunity for their school in Soto, Madrid, Spain. The fully funded scholarship is only available to Ringmer students.

The scholarship includes all boarding expenses for the duration of the two-year programme, approximately €52,000 (circa £46,000); all tuition fees, including textbooks, for the duration of the two-year programme (€4476 per term plus €1000 matriculation fee, approximately €27,000 - £24,000); for those in receipt of pupil premium, three return airfare tickets per year, one per term (Approximately €900 pa - £1,600 over the two years); access to all extra-curricular activities.

KAR sent invitations to all parents and carers of the current year 11 cohort. Both KGA and KAR really hope that students will grab this opportunity of a lifetime and apply for the scholarship!
